Community Grants

Between 35 – 45% of the Foundation’s grants each year are distributed by way of an open application process. The remaining funds support targeted strategic initiatives, including work affiliated with the Tarrant Institute for Innovative Education at the University of Vermont.

We welcome interest from organizations throughout Vermont working to ease hardship and help people overcome barriers to independence and success. However, we are mindful of the effort and resources involved in applying to any foundation for funds, and of the extremely competitive fundraising climate today.

Our process seeks to determine the likeliness of a fit with potential partners at the earliest possible juncture, minimizing wasted effort on both sides. While we are interested in a variety of approaches to the challenges described above, proposals that do not specifically intend work in these areas are unlikely to be funded.  How to Apply
